Description
During the summer of 2016, we stayed on the Salve Regina University campus in Newport, RI, for a week. Our meals were taken in Miley Hall, where we also had our room. The columns in the main- floor dining hall were tiled in long thin glass tiles, with subtle differences in gloss and opacity. While each column appeared either black or white, they had an interesting juxtaposition of tile length and width, which made me think of them as a quilt waiting to happen.
