Stack ‘n Whack

Bethany S. Reynolds introduced the quilting world to this technique in her book, Magic Stack-n-Whack Quilts, in 1998.

Many different pieced quilt blocks can be generated from the same general directions, depending on the angle you choose to do your whacking – 45˚, 60˚, and so on.

Whimaway used an African-looking geometric pattern, seen in the border, which resulted in all of the pinwheels.
