Math For Quilters

Math For Quilters
Description

In a block-of-the-month class at a local quilt shop, one of the students admitted that she didn’t know how to find 3-7/8 inches on her ruler. That started me thinking about all of the mathphobes who are great quilters, but are stymied by the math needed to change pattern dimensions and never even try to design a new pattern. Since I have always loved math, it has been fun to bring tiny bits of understanding to folks who are willing to learn math, when they can see that it is helpful for what they would like to do.

This short booklet includes patterns for geometric solids like the dodecahedron, as well as Bucky-balls (the shape used by soccer balls).
